I am a published playwright and author, having penned over twenty plays & musicals, and four novels. I am also a professional speaker, cowboy poet, actor and songwriter. As an avid writer of the cowboy culture, I authored the Branson-style musical revue, Can’t Get Enough Of Texas, which starred the Otwell Twins of Lawrence Welk fame.
I received formal training at Sam Houston State University earning a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a vocal emphasis, and am also a graduate of The Institute of Children’s Literature. Post graduate studies include playwriting & directing at the University of Texas and history of the southwest at West Texas A&M. My article, Freighting on the XIT Ranch of Texas, was published in the Panhandle-Plains Historical Review.
My performance credits include Standin’ in the Stirrups, The Old Maid and the Thief, The King and I, The Music Man, Death of a Salesman, Can’t Get Enough Of Texas and Texas Legacies.
I currently teach a basic novel writing class as part of the Continuing Education curriculum at West Texas A&M University, travel the speakers circuit, and am a co-founder of Old Tascosa Publishing.
